At the start of Day 3 in NZ. I'm still alive. Still settling in and getting used to jet lag,
Several observations: It's hot. I know, I know, I knew it would be summer. But it's HOT. I mean, if I'd had all of spring and the start of summer to get used to it, then I'd be fine. But coming from winter weather in Spain and MN, this is HOT.
Also, Auckland is an interesting city. The traditional city center is kind of crummy and uninteresting. But the outside suburbs apparently are the cool places. also, there's like a thousand miles of beach.
And lastly, when crossing the street, at some street intersections the walk signal for all sides goes green at once and so for a few moments the only thing going on is people crossing the street. This means that people can just casually walk diagonally across the street to the corner kitty corner from them. WHAT?
That is all for now.
Love and hugs to all at home
